Amethyst Squared (8″ x 8″ x 9″) is a cube cut apart and reassembled with an optical wedge inserted to create a dynamic perched sculpture. On the inside is a colored cube composed of many individual amethyst optical glass cubes. The effect generated is a field of floating cubes with a deconstructed cube. It’s affixed to a glass circle that slips into the top of the spinning anodized aluminum base with felt on the bottom.
