Ephemeris Cone

Another study in the properties of color and glass,  Ephemeris Cone (16x10x9) illustrates the power of glass to take straight rectilinear pieces of colored glass and refract and twist them in such a way as to make them strictly curving.  The cone at one end creates an almost knotted affect, which the lens at the other end magnifies the swirls that are created, with the concave lens in that larger lens minimizing the swirl of color.  A circle of plate glass is flattened on one side to allow the cone to rest.  A unique piece.  The only one every made.  It's a metaphor for perspective and how things may not in actuality be the way they seem.  The lens of our consciousness makes it so.
