Character Cycle (10x10x5) is a novel approach for me: to create a stand alone circle, as opposed to a deconstructed one. It's the first piece in which I used a circle of dichroic glass as well as sandblasted and painted graphics on the outside of the piece. Also, I made the outer circle rounded. So, three innovations in this one piece. Lenses have been ground into the front and back center of the piece in order to create even more optical interest. This sculpture is a metaphor for the circularity of humanity and life itself being defined by language and symbol. It's spinning as well, like our world, on an anodized aluminum base.
