Extensions

Extensions (11x9x5) is a play on what glass can do in terms of drawing out images into otherwise clear sections.  The middle part is composed of leaded and non-leaded optical glasses combined with two colors of dichroic glass, which have sandblasted graphics on them.  It's cut and recut to create a certain complexity.  Then two wedges of optical crystal are affixed to the inner section.  The result is a sculpture that is one minute clear and another ablaze in color.  It's a metaphor for how if we wait things will change, that they recede and then come forward.
