Koanesque I Cube is a study in blues with an accent on the oriental. I've drawn some eastern graphics and incorporated them in the interior of this piece, by sandblasting designs onto the dichroic glass. Blue tinted glass is used as a bold focal point. When the cube within a cube is cut in half the geometry becomes more complex as wafers of color run through the piece. A stick design is sandblasted onto the exterior to give it more boldness and complexity. After it's reassembled with optical elements between the two halves, the bottom is ground and polished and glued onto a circular piece of plate glass that sits in the recessed top of the spinning anodized aluminum base. It measures 10x10x10.
