Light Wedge Acropole

This piece is at once an architectural piece and a study in color and optics.  In the tip one finds itself reflected and refracted many times.  In the lens on the top one gets a microcosm of the interior.  At the end one finds the color and design stretched and enhanced.  From the side it has a simplicity.  The colored section is composed of dichroic, leaded, and non-leaded glasses which are cut and recut many times to create a shimmering, floating sea of optics and color.  It's then encased with clear crystal, ground to shape, and polished all around, the curved surfaces by hand.  It measures 13x12x4.  It's a very rich and playful piece that's like a color study, but an optical study.
