Linear B (25x11x8) is a piece I was inspired to make by my love of Greek mythology and the island of Crete, which I have visited a few times. It's a timeless place and has a way of sparking the imagination with it's archaeological sites and amazing history, recent as well as ancient. Specifically, this piece was intended to be an allegory for when Cretan youth would dance off of the horns of bulls, doing gymnastics and slips in the process. Elegance and courage and acrobatics. So I tried to give this piece that same flow, that same movement, allowing the dichroic colored interior to mark that nobility and style. All of the curves werefashioned and polished by hand. The base is sandblasted stainless steel and acts well as a ballast for what's above it. A study in making glass move.
