Traingulations Blues (18x18x15) is a large piece that has a physcal presence and also an ethereal presence of layers of blues counterposed at various angles, reflecting and refractng the cobalt tinted glass throughout the sculpture. I made it first as a colored cube within a clear cube and then cut it in half in order to reassemble it in a deconstructed aethetic. Inside the interior cube are Japanese-esque graphics which I created that are painted blue. As the glass construction is cut and recut and reassembled, what we are left with are hints that they were once part of the one field. So, it's making the simple complex and then leaving it to the observer to reassemble it in their mind's eye. It's affixed to a piece of plate glass that sits in the recessed top of the spinning anodized aluminum base.
